Beamish museum is only 4 miles from The Riding Farm which offers bed and breakfast accommodation or self catering cottages. Beamish open air museum is ideal for a family day out with lots to explore including the 1825 Manor House, the 1913 town - experience the sweetie shop, pub and very scary dentist dont forget to go down the mines or look in at the school and remind the littles ones how lucky they are!. Beamish is a large museum which is well spread out for the children to run around but dont panic there are vintage trams buses and cars which transport you around the museum they are great fun.

Masonic Temple,was new in Easter 2006, has been moved and rebuilt stone by stone at Beamish.

You could walk to Beamish if you wanted as there is a footpath accross the fields which was probaly used by miners to get to and from work.
