Beamish Museum has a working 1900s farm with a range of farm animals, farm buildings and machinery for all to explore - ideal for a family holiday in the country. At Riding Farm we can remember using some of them our grandfather donated machinery to the musuem which is on show in the farmyard

Masonic Temple, was new in Easter 2006, has been moved and rebuilt stone by stone at Beamish - it was originally built in Sunderland in 1869.

There is a footpath to Beamish from Riding Farm which was probably used by the miners to get to and from the mines. New in 2009 in the mining village is the lamp exhibition well worth a look.
