Wrapped up warm and headed off for a walk as all our guests had an early breakfast for a meeting in Newcastle - hope all went well guys.

We have been awarded the Breakfast Award for the Riding Farm Breakfast - we know its good from all our guests comments but its nice to have the award - forgot to ask if we get a cup!

Our butchers Robinsons of Wingate are one of the North East Finalists of the Countryside Alliance Awards.
We have worked with Janet and Trevour (Robinsons) for many years too many to mention!! and can fully understand why they have done so well.

Sheep Pen Cottage - Every possible need catered for worth every one of the 5 Stars

The cottage was lovely and in a beautiful location. It was extremely well equipped, every possible need had been catered for. There were some really nice touches like maps of the local area provided with walks marked on them. We have stayed in many different self catering accomodations and this was by far the best. Finishing Friday with a flurry of activity laying concrete this morning for the patio and patio walls finished plastering upstairs in Granary Barn and now painting the bathrooms and ceilings. In Bowes Barn we are putting up plaster boards getting ready for the plaster. Have promised everyone home made cakes with cup of tea at half four - good job I made them last night.

Capenhurst is a lovely coastal house sleeping upto 6 persons with outstanding views of the Northumberland coast only 2 minutes walk from the Beadnell Bay Beach. If walks along the beach are not enough there is plenty to do nearby why not make a visit to Bamburgh Castle only 10 minutes drive or Alnwick Castle and Gardens only 15 minutes.

We pride ourselves on our breakfast - it sets you up for your day ahead. Guests staying in Riding Cottage are even enjoying breakfast - recommended by other guests staying. Can't get better than word of mouth, they all love the fresh eggs - good old Hettie and her gang!
£2 million to come to Beamish and Bowes Museum

Congratulations to all at Bowes Museum and Beamish on there successful partnership and in securing £2m of funding from Renaissance Fund. The money will be used to expand exhibitions and promote collections to wider audience.

We are having a ball setting up for the photo shoot in Pig Run Barn, Millers Barn as well as Riding Cottage garden for all things wedding! The theme is Alice in Wonderland wish I had the pick of these things when I was getting married.
